About DAT

Discover your future at DAT Freight & Analytics, where innovation meets impact. For over four decades, DAT has been at the forefront of transportation and logistics, helping businesses move freight with greater efficiency and confidence. We are a technology company that removes uncertainty from freight for truckers, brokers, and shippers every day. Our advanced tools and data intelligence empower professionals to make smarter decisions, optimize costs, and operate more successfully. Through the industry's largest digital freight marketplace and insights derived from over $1 trillion in freight transactions, we provide the mission-critical information that keeps supply chains running smoothly across the country. DAT is proud to be an award-winning workplace that fosters innovation, celebrates success, and values professional growth. With strategic offices in Beaverton, Oregon, Denver, Colorado, Springfield, Missouri, and Bangalore, India, our teams collaborate to solve the transportation industry's most complex challenges. Ready to shape the future of freight technology?

The Opportunity

DAT is seeking a battle-tested Accounts Payable Manager who thrives in high-pressure environments and is ready to OWN our AP function.

This is not a "maintenance" role. We operate with a rigorous 3-day month-end close and face daily "fire drills" that require immediate action, expert communication, and total accountability. You will be the primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external vendors, treating both as vital customers of the AP department.

What You'll Do

  • High-Velocity Financial Operations: * Execute a 3-day month-end close with 100% accuracy.
  • Prepare and manage previous day cash reports to ensure real-time visibility for leadership.
  • Manage complex intercompany reconciliations, ensuring all balances across subsidiaries are accurate and eliminated properly.
  • Daily Ownership & "Fire Drills": Serve as the front line for all AP-related emergencies. You are expected to identify, address, and resolve issues (the "fire drills") daily without the need for constant escalation.
  • Complex Reconciliations: * Lead the end-to-end virtual and physical credit card reconciliation process.
  • Track, record, and reconcile all prepaid expenses and related accruals.
  • Perform deep-dive reconciliations for AP and related general ledger accounts.
  • Acquisition & System Integration: Play a lead role in the financial integration of newly acquired entities, harmonizing their AP policies with our public-company standards.
  • ERP System Implementation: We are currently in the process of a Netsuite implementation, and this role will be instrumental in the implementation and data migration process. You will serve as a key stakeholder, providing crucial input to lead the design and configuration of the AP function within the new system.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor "Customer Service": Maintain a high level of professional communication, treating internal departments and external vendors as customers.
  • Resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries with urgency and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Department Leadership: Lead and mentor the AP team (including AP Clerk), overseeing daily processing of invoices, payments (ACH, wire, checks), and expense reports.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of direct, hands-on AP experience in high-volume environments.
  • 4+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with a rock-solid understanding of debits, credits, and GAAP.
  • Public Company Experience: Prior experience with a 3 or 4-day close and the associated reporting rigors is highly preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and automation tools like Stampli or Tropic.
  • The "Owner" Mindset: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; you are someone who sets the pace rather than following it.
  • Resilience: Proven ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment characterized by daily shifting priorities and "fire drills".

Why DAT?

DAT is an award winning employer of choice.

We have a time-tested and resolute set of operating values predicated on integrity, mutual respect, open communication, and executing with excellence. These values inform our strategic vision as much as any one of our products does. We've been an employer of choice in the Portland metropolitan area for four decades, and within one year of opening our Denver office, DAT was #26 on Built In Colorado's 100 Best Places to Work In Colorado.

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D insurance

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Short- and Long-term disability sick leave
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Health Savings Accounts
  • Employee Assistance Program

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
