Job Overview:
The Accounting Associate I will play a key role in supporting financial operations by performing routine financial data entry tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with various financial processes. This position requires strong communication, analytical, and accounts payable skills, along with proficiency in Excel. The role will involve both remote and onsite work, with a schedule of working from home on Mondays and Fridays and being onsite at the Jacksonville office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine financial data entry tasks, including recording transactions and updating ledgers to ensure accurate financial records.
- Research national and international procedures related to audit requirements, reporting standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements to enhance financial efficiency.
- Support the preparation of financial reports for annual and quarterly tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and reconciliations.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the general ledger by recording financial transactions accurately.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and participating in reporting reviews.
- Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Analyze and research discrepancies in financial statements, providing concise explanations for variances.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in accounts payable processes and analytical skills.
- Experience with Excel for financial data management and analysis.
- Nice to have: Experience with Oracle Fusion and vendor management.
- Intermediate skill level preferred.

Pay Range: $20 - $22 an hour on W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
