Job Description:
For over 165 years, CGU has been insuring ambition. Part of Insurance Australia Group (known as IAG), we're a leading commercial, rural and personal lines insurer and a top-three provider of workers compensation insurance.
Step into a role where your workers compensation expertise truly makes a difference. As an Account Management Specialist, you'll help shape strong, long-term partnerships that support safer workplaces and better customer outcomes. This is your chance to bring your insurance and brokerage experience into a collaborative, high performing team that values smart thinking, continuous improvement and genuine connection. You'll work at the heart of our business, turning deep industry insight into practical solutions that support growth, build trust and deliver real value for brokers and policyholders.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Boorloo (Perth).
What You'll Do
- Build strong, trusted relationships with brokers and policyholders by bringing our Customer Value Proposition to life through consistent, personalised account management.
- Manage and grow a diverse portfolio by driving retention, improving underperforming policies, and developing targeted broker plans and new business opportunities.
- Partner closely with Underwriting, Claims and Broker teams to deliver seamless, joined up experiences and consistently strong outcomes for customers.
- Use your workers compensation expertise to support quality underwriting decisions, sustainable pricing outcomes, and effective claims management practices.
- Advocate for your portfolio internally, helping teams stay focused on what matters most and reducing non core activities wherever possible.
- Deliver exceptional service that lifts customer satisfaction, supports fair complaint resolution, and strengthens long term loyalty and trust.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in insurance or similar client facing roles, ideally with strong exposure to workers compensation or commercial insurance environments.
- Confidence influencing and engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, brokers and complex customer groups.
- Strong industry knowledge to support quality underwriting, claims outcomes and commercially sound decision making.
- Ability to balance improvement initiatives with customer needs, regulatory requirements and broader community expectations.
- Experience developing and delivering strategic engagement and service plans that drive growth and retention outcomes.
- Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for varied audiences, including senior and executive forums.
What We Offer
- Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard.
- 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what's important to you).
- Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex.
- Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance.
- Partner discounts on private health insurance, tech & appliances, and many more.
- Industry-leading 20 weeks paid parental leave.
- Access to LinkedIn Learning, the award-winning IAG Academy, study assistance and secondment opportunities.
