Schedule and Location:

  • This is a hybrid role with expectations to be in person at meetings and events during regular working hours and occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Candidate should live in the Greater Charlotte area with a reasonable commute time to downtown Charlotte and surrounding areas.
  • Position is a grant-funded role supporting the Bloomberg Philanthropies Healthcare Education Initiative, a partnership between Bloomberg Philanthropies, Atrium Health, Carolinas College of Health Sciences, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Additional Information:

  • Provide career coaching and workforce readiness support to high school juniors, seniors, and 13th year students enrolled in the healthcare early college program specific to internships and entry-level employment opportunities within Atrium Health.
  • Support the Manager, Workforce Initiatives and Grants in securing internships and entry-level employment opportunities across the greater Charlotte organization.
  • Provide support and workforce readiness to students through the stages of obtaining a position: preparation, application, onboarding, first six months of employment.
  • Serve as a program liaison to the talent acquisition representatives, hiring managers and division leaders supporting these employment opportunities.
  • Conduct program evaluation with students and hiring managers for continuous improvement.

Pay Range

$32.45 - $48.70

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides regional/PSA administration to workforce development programming for established workforce development up skilling and pipeline strategies.
  • Responsible for implementing system workforce development strategies for targeted populations. Includes the advisement of site and regional operations partners to carry out workforce strategies and to implement programs.
  • Acts as a workforce development business partner and subject-matter-expert on pipelining and up skilling related matters. Utilizes an understanding of organizational strategies to translate how regional/PSA services are delivered.
  • Manages external relationships within designated region including but, not limited to community-based organizations, community colleges/universities, workforce investment boards, K-12 schools and other strategic partners.
  • Builds and maintains strong, productive relationships with key constituencies within Advocate Aurora Health to play an active role in connecting job seekers to training opportunities aligned with current roles within the organization.
  • Coordinates on-the-job learning experiences or internships for assigned target populations in partnership with workforce investment boards, colleges, universities, community-based organizations or state partners.
  • Assists in the compilation, organization or reporting of State or Federal Affirmative Action guidelines outlined by contractual obligations of internal pathway programs in partnership with Workforce Development Manager.
  • Facilitates the statistical analysis and data management for the workforce programs related to designated programs of oversight. Includes managing data and outputs/outcomes by assigned partners who are pipelines for talent.

  • Partners with regional healthcare collaborative partners to advise on system needs and administer programming offered at a local or regional level. Supports the administration to specific local or regional workforce grants including data collection, applicant tracking and reporting measures.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development or related field.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in coordinating community or corporate training program, along with success in Workforce Development, Human Resources, public/private entities, school and/or churches.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Prior experience working with the youth population, disabled or other high-barrier employment populations preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience working with internship, apprenticeship or other student learning activities programs preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Affirmative Action regulations including compiling or reporting data is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating community and/or corporate training programs for frontline team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative ability to engage high-barrier populations in workforce related training, including the capacity to navigate community resources.
  • Ability work independently, problem solve and make well-informed make decisions.
  • High level of proficiency and literacy in using the Microsoft Office Suite, similar products and other technology solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse communities and work groups.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
