Job Description:

SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Mental Health Professional II to join the Flourish Program (co-occurring program for perinatal patients) at the Redleaf Center for Family Healing. This part time role will work 48 hours per two week pay period (days). Group clinic is on Fridays (required) with flexibility on the other scheduled days. This role is currently grant funded through the end of 2027.

Purpose of this Position: Provides direct service to clients and their families at the Redleaf Center for Family Healing within Hennepin Healthcare. This role will work directly with patients who are pregnant or have children under the age of 5 and have mental health needs and current or history of substance use. The Mental Health Professional Level II will provide direct psychiatric screening, assessment, and treatment for pregnant and parenting persons living with mental illnesses with current or history of substance use; evaluate care and programming; provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy; lead new group therapy intervention on Fridays in collaboration with multidisciplinary team including Addiction and Family Medicine physician, social worker, peer recovery doula; develop programming as needed; and provide clinical supervision to post-masters Mental Health Associates (LAMFT, LPC, LGSW).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides mental health evaluation and treatment services including initial and ongoing screeners; diagnostic assessments; initial treatment plans and treatment plan updates; individual, family, and group psychotherapy services; psychoeducation; care coordination and referrals; crisis services; and discharge planning
  • Completes documentation and billing in a timely and accurate manner for clinical services provided
  • Participate in (and, when applicable to the position, leads) multidisciplinary care team rounds
  • Provides on-call phone coverage for patient coaching (as applicable to position)
  • Provides clinical supervision to clinical trainees (practicum students, interns, and fellows)
  • Assists in maintaining standards for clinic accreditation by health management organizations and state licensure/certification
  • Provides clinical supervision to post-masters Mental Health Associates (LAMFT, LPC, LGSW)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Meets the DHS definition for Mental Health Professional. (See MN Statute 245.462, Subd. 18. Mental health professional)
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an MHP
  • OR-
  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
  • Experience with individuals who have current or history of substance use
  • Experience working with patients who are pregnant, postpartum, or parenting young children

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to provide psychotherapy to patients and families; ability to recognize and document patient progress;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team;
  • Ability to interact with individuals of widely diverse lifestyles including ability to deal objectively with individuals whose attitudes and behaviors differ from his/her own;
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, patient charts, and physicians' notes;
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures in an advisory capacity (educate).
  • Ability to use computer systems, including electronic medical records, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, etc.)

License/Certifications:

  • Must be a licensed mental health professional per Department of Human Services - LMFT, LICSW or LPCC.
  • Must be a board-approved supervisor
