About the role

The Lead – Housing is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic oversight of the Housing Coordinators of the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) in Western Australia (Perth).

This role will oversee all tenancy, leasing, and rental operations in collaboration with the Team Leader – Housing Operations & Compliance, and Local Casework Leads, to support settlement outcomes and ensuring housing services meet the needs of newly arrived humanitarian entrants and comply with legal, financial, and contractual obligations.

The role supports local teams to build strong relationships with real estate agents, landlords, tenants (HSP clients), and internal stakeholders, ensuring housing supports align with program objectives, policy requirements, and client wellbeing.


You will bring

  • Well-developed cultural competence and the ability to lead and work collaboratively with diverse teams under limited direction.
  • Strong partnership-building skills with a proven track record of achieving shared objectives through collaboration.
  • Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgment where practices and procedures are not clearly defined.
  • Deep understanding of the issues, needs, strengths, and vulnerabilities of people impacted by migration.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and risk management frameworks, ensuring compliant and ethical practice.
  • Ability to work under general direction from senior employees, exercise a degree of autonomy and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds to create a collaborative working environment.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteers.

Mandatory Requirements

A clearance to work with Children Check and a Valid Drivers licence.
