Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Corporate Communications team, based in Chicago (hybrid opportunity).
This position plays an important role in pursuing, developing and disseminating content for a wide variety of internal and external communications initiatives. The primary role of the Communications Coordinator is to support the development of content within the United States and Canada and to support EXP's global goals. To execute this mission, we are looking for a team member who can develop dynamic content for the company's website, intranet sites, social media platforms, publications and assist in the implementation of strategic communication plans.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- As a member of the Communications team, reporting to the Vice President, Communications, you are responsible for the creation and publication of content for internal and external audiences that align with EXP's core values and communications and marketing strategies.
- Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to create and/or edit copy written by others to support EXP markets and services.
- Revise content according to AP standards, rewrite if necessary for clarity, comprehension, EXP tone and effectiveness.
- Reach out and work closely with teams across designated regions to seek information about EXP's projects and expertise for EXP's internal and external channels and pitch ideas to communications and marketing colleagues.
- Responsible for coordinating with communications coordinators and specialists on the corporate communications team to support content delivery for global initiatives (articles, website content and social media).
- Participate in editorial meetings, suggest topics and stories and help maintain the editorial calendar in collaboration with regional marketing teams and communications specialists in designated regions.
- Daily management of social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
- Coordinate content about EXP's multidisciplinary services and experts and ensures content is aligned with EXP's strategic goals.
- Monitor social media trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement across EXP's channels.
- Make sure all communication materials meet EXP's brand guidelines and standards.
- Provide various copywriting and editing support as needed.

What your experience looks like
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in communications, preferably in the AEC industry or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated mastery of English grammar, including spelling and punctuation.
- Creative thinking with strong storytelling and writing skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud. Preferred experiences with internal distribution platforms such as Poppulo (Newsweaver) or related platforms.
- Proficient with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
- Knowledge and experience of email campaigns, and online content management systems including SharePoint 2013 or other intranet platforms.
- Demonstrated precision and thoroughness at work.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-intensive environment.
The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
