About the Role
Title: Chief of Staff
Location: Brentwood TN United States
This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.
SUMMARY:
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and advisor to the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CoreCivic. Manages the day-to-day operations of the executive office, facilitating communication and collaboration across departments and ensures the effective execution of strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level consistent with the job performance requirements.
- Organizational Management:
- Oversees daily operations of executive office, ensuring efficient workflow and prioritization of tasks.
- Coordinates and manages executive schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Develops and implements organizational systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project Management:
- Leads and manages special projects and initiatives as assigned by the President/COO.
- Develops project plans, sets timelines and ensures successful execution and completion of projects.
- Monitors project progress, enforce deliverables and provides regular updates to the President/COO.
- Communication:
- Serves as a liaison between the President/COO and internal/external stakeholders.
- Prepares and reviews communications, including emails, reports, presentations and speeches.
- Facilitates clear and effective communication across departments and with key stakeholders.
- Analytical Ability:
- Conducts research and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Prepares detailed reports and presentations on various topics, including business performance, market trends and operational metrics.
- Financial Acumen:
- Assists in the preparation and management of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Analyzes financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Business Acumen:
- Understands the core business operations and strategic objectives of CoreCivic.
- Provides insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational excellence.
- Discretion:
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to the President/COO, providing honest and constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a related field required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate or government setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Significant travel required
