Youth-Focused Clinical Trainer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Trainer with a passion for youth services to lead and deliver impactful training programs focused on youth-specific clinical response and youth peer support throughout the greater St. Louis metro area. This role will engage with BHR staff, youth peer specialists, and community partners to improve behavioral health response and training quality with a youth-centered lens.
Essential Functions:
- Lead dynamic training sessions for youth peer specialists and youth-facing staff, focused on crisis response, de-escalation, and recovery.
- Design and develop engaging training materials aligned with DMH, CARF, and AAS standards.
- Train and mentor youth peer specialists, integrating trauma-informed and strength-based models.
- Participate in real-time coaching during crisis simulations, test calls, and consultations.
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide ongoing feedback and support.
- Assist with e-learning system coordination (Relias) and youth-specific content development.
- Prepare training rooms, materials, and AV equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with supervisors and clinical leads to track training outcomes and youth peer progress.
- Support community outreach and represent BHR at events involving youth services.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Youth Development, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in training, clinical youth work, or youth program coordination.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, especially with youth-centered content.
- Understanding of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and peer support principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and e-learning platforms (e.g., Relias).
- Ability to build relationships with diverse staff, trainees, and youth participants.
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
