Who We Are

At RCG, Inc., we’re more than just a federal contracting company — we’re a team of innovators, problem-solvers, and collaborators. Proudly Certified™ as a Great Place to Work® 4 years in a row, we are committed to building a culture where people can grow, contribute, and thrive while supporting meaningful government missions.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer to support our government client at the National Weather Service Pacific Region. This full-time role will focus on modernizing and maintaining internal web applications that support procurement and travel processes, helping enhance operational efficiency across the Pacific Region.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as lead developer managing internal JavaScript/TypeScript applications supporting procurement and travel systems across the Pacific Region.
  • Modernize legacy ES5 JavaScript applications to ES12 and TypeScript, and integrate Svelte to improve maintainability, readability, and performance.
  • Design and implement automated workflows and forms using Google Apps Script, including approval buttons tied to user sessions, while navigating complex federal email routing and legal requirements.
  • Secure and maintain Linux-based weather stations with STIG-compliant cybersecurity on Apache HTTP Server, and modernize legacy systems to align with DoD standards.
  • Update and maintain MariaDB databases supporting critical Honolulu weather servers to ensure data reliability and system integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and deploy scalable REST APIs, gather requirements, and deliver actionable data insights supporting federal operations.
  • Author SOPs, technical documentation, and reports while managing support tickets to streamline processes and enhance client outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience modernizing legacy codebases and implementing clean code standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Svelte (or similar frameworks).
  • Proficiency in Google Apps Script and workflow automation.
  • Working knowledge of Linux system administration, cybersecurity compliance (STIG or similar), and Apache server configuration.
  • Experience managing and optimizing relational databases (MariaDB or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with REST API design, development, and deployment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting federal government clients.
  • Understanding of federal security and email routing requirements.
  • Knowledge of procurement or travel systems in a government environment.

Why You’ll Love Working Her

  • Certified™ Great Place to Work® — supportive and inclusive culture.
  • Competitive pay and benefits package.
  • Opportunities to modernize systems that support critical government operations.
  • Direct impact on improving efficiency and security for the National Weather Service.
