Your impact
As a technical writer on our Frontier Markets team, you will work closely with product managers and engineering to understand the roadmap and identify how best to promote customer knowledge of our innovative products and services. To succeed, you'll need to write swiftly, cleanly, and confidently while remaining open and responsive to feedback. You'll assess the needs of your audience, devise lean and efficient content strategies, and enable customer success through detailed conceptual and procedural information.
Location: US Remote or Seattle, Washington
Reports to: Manger, Technical Writing

What you'll do (or might do)
- Write and update release notes, end-user, administrator, and developer documentation for Axon products.
- Write and review UX language for feature workflows and style guides.
- Collaborate with various teams such as product management, design, engineering, customer support, training, marketing, account management, and sales.
- Perform content analysis and develop documentation plans for new features and products.
- Evangelize best practices for technical communications within the organization.
- Partner with the training team to promote content reuse and efficient content and learning plans.
- Work in a CMS to create, review, and deliver our content to multiple platforms.
What you bring
- 3+ years experience in a technical writing role.
- Demonstrated ability to write for diverse audiences, including non-technical end users, IT experts, and business decision-makers.
- Experience producing user documentation including installation guides, configuration guides, and online help.
- Familiarity with documenting web, desktop, and mobile software products.
- Robust working knowledge and application of style guides and industry practices.
- Experience with agile software development projects.
- Plusses if you have
- Experience with law enforcement agencies, criminal justice, or other public safety organizations
- Experience with cloud computing, networking, and related computer hardware
- Experience writing and reviewing UX copy
- Experience with MadCap Central

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 69,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 101,200 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
