What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Field Sales Director. This position falls under our North American Fleet line of business and is located remotely on the west coast. As the Field Sales Director, you will report directly to the Vice President of Field Sales and tasked with guiding a team of 7-10 Field Sales Representatives toward achieving their personal and professional aspirations while also driving the team's success in meeting corporate objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include coaching and developing the team's expertise, abilities, work ethic, and sales approach.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy and action plans to exceed revenue targets, for both Fleet and AP spend
  • Meeting and exceeding market sales quotas
  • Tracking key activity metrics (KPIs) weekly, including pipeline management, prospecting, closing deals, and onboarding new customers
  • Lead staffing, training, and performance reviews to develop market sales performance and individual sales rep performance
  • Develop and assess sales staff, recruiting talent, and communicate market and service line trends to leadership
  • Conducting weekly one-on-one meetings, sales team meetings, and field visits with sales representatives
  • Providing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure current and future goal attainment
  • Professionally representing the company in the marketplace, including attending trade association meetings
  • Optimize lead generation practices and manage territory planning
  • Serving as a liaison between the sales department and other departments internally and externally
  • Analyzing and controlling expenditures of the sales team to conform to budgetary requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience
  • 3+ years of professional sales leadership experience
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative and balance competing priorities
  • Proven experience in a competitive, high-performance, target-driven environment
  • Strong negotiation and compensation experience
  • Proven experience in a metric-based sales organization
  • Extensive experience in a "hunter" or business development sales model
  • Creative thinker with sound business judgment
  • Effective communication, listening, probing, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Suite
  • Strong skills in territory management, articulating value, sales call management, sales cycle management, and pipeline management
  • High levels of analytical horsepower and ability to turn analysis into insight and actions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, coach and develop team members, conduct performance management, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Possesses qualities such as perseverance, discipline, focus, problem-solving, achiever, competence, responsibility, competitiveness, business thinking, desire, organization, vision, developer, empathy, activator, command, stimulator, and persuasion
  • Demonstrated ability to attain quota and meet set objectives
