Job Description:
The Culver Franchising System, LLC IT team is continuing to grow and has a new Software Engineer – Specialist position available. In this role, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that support business processes and enhance the overall guest experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, they will design and implement scalable solutions, contribute to the development of various software applications, and deliver effective solutions.
Essential Functions:
Software Development and Maintenance:
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving software issues
- Participate in code reviews to enhance development practices and quality
Application Development and Accessibility:
- Collaborate with other team members to design, develop, test, and maintain web and mobile applications
- Work closely with design and quality assurance teams to identify and implement accessibility best practices, including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and high-contrast interface
Documentation and Support:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for software applications, including user manuals and technical guides
- Support basic DevOps tasks, including deployment pipelines, environment configuration, and application monitoring
- Advance and maintain professional and technical knowledge through appropriate training courses, selected reading, conferences and involvement with professional organizations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: C#, React, Node.js, SQL, Python
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server)
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and automated testing frameworks
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in troubleshooting complex software issues
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of software design principles and architectural patterns
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with React Native and mobile app development for iOS and Android
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services
- Experience working with NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Experience using APIs from leading LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Ability to integrate LLMs into applications (e.g., chatbots, summarization tools, code assistants)
- Proficiency in implementing accessible user interfaces, including screen reader support, keyboard navigation, and semantic HTML

Starting Pay Range: $75,000-$85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
