The GoFundMe team is looking for a Social and Community Manager to help manage the day-to-day activity on primary social accounts, oversees social listening and community engagement, and flags or actions comments to ensure timely and thoughtful interactions that foster a positive brand presence

- Social Media Management:
- Oversee day-to-day activity on primary social accounts, including posting, monitoring, and maintaining a consistent brand voice
- Social Listening:
- Monitor mentions, trends, and community sentiment across platforms, identifying opportunities to engage or flagging critical conversations
- Community Engagement:
- Respond to comments, messages, and community inquiries promptly and thoughtfully to foster meaningful connections and trust
- Issue Escalation:
- Flag and action comments or issues that require escalation to internal teams such as Care, Product, or PR
- Platform Optimization:
- Stay up to date on platform updates and trends to ensure the brand is using best practices for engagement and growth

- Thrives in real-time engagement and ensures timely, thoughtful interactions on behalf of the brand
- Social Media Platform Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, & TikTok), trends, and publishing tools (e.g. Sprout), with a proven ability to engage audiences effectively
- Experience using tools like AllEars or Meltwater to monitor mentions, sentiment, and trends, and able to effectively summarize conversations and recommend responses/course of action
- Collaborative Team Player:
- Works well across teams to align on messaging and share insights to improve the overall strategy
- A Creator:
- Ability to create and edit on-brand posts, including captions, light graphic design and basic video editing for social (e.g., Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Express)
- Data Driven:
- Experience tracking and interpreting key metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, sentiment) to inform strategy and improve performance
- Comfortable Under Pressure:
- Familiarity with moderating and addressing sensitive or high-risk conversations online, including in a crisis response environment
- Years of Experience:
- 3–5 years of professional experience managing social media accounts for a brand or organization with a focus on community engagement
Preferred Skills:
- Writing & Copyediting:
- Strong ability to write in a consistent brand voice with impeccable grammar and editing skills.
- Customer Care Integration:
- Experience working closely with support or care teams to manage escalations or community feedback.
- Collaboration:
- Comfort in working with cross-functional teams like PR, Product, and Marketing to align messaging and action plans.
- Experience with Nonprofits or Cause Marketing:
- Understanding of the nonprofit sector or experience in a mission-driven role is a plus.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $88,000 - $132,500 + equity + benefits. The salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
