Overview
GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Web Application Developer to work in a hybrid capacity, with 2 days on-site per week at the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) in Columbus, Ohio. This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance of Columbus and offers a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on modern web technologies and application development.
Position Overview
As a Senior Web Application Developer, you will be responsible for leading the front-end development of scalable, robust web applications for the Ohio Department of Aging. This role focuses heavily on Angular development within a .NET/ASP.NET environment and includes responsibilities across the full software development lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems, implement clean and efficient user interfaces, and integrate with various back-end services and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, user-friendly web applications using Angular (8+), ASP.NET MVC, and Web Forms

Convert legacy ASP.NET Web Forms into modular Angular components for reuse across applications

Optimize front-end performance and ensure mobile-first, responsive design

Create interactive UI/UX features with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery
-
Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate RESTful and SOAP APIs
-
Implement secure coding practices and enforce role-based access control (RBAC)
-
Use GIT for version control and Jenkins for continuous integration

Create, test, and maintain SQL tables, views, queries, triggers, and stored procedures

Assist in back-end API development using Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails

Write functional requirement documents, mockups, prototypes, and storyboards

Stay current with emerging technologies and front-end development trends
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical study
-
10+ years of proven experience as a Front-End Developer
-
7+ years of hands-on experience with Angular 8+, Bootstrap, and markup languages (HTML, CSS)

Strong experience with ASP.NET MVC 5.0/Web Forms in a .NET/C# environment

Proficient in JavaScript, jQuery, and front-end frameworks
-
5+ years of experience with Python (v2.7 or higher)

3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps
-
Experience with Entity Framework and ORM tools
-
Strong understanding of UI/UX design, SEO principles, and accessibility
-
Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and CMS tools
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Experience

Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform

Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience integrating third-party APIs and web services

Proven ability to deliver solutions with limited or unclear requirements

Experience with Agile or unstructured development environments

Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
