Job Description:
An employer is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their team based in San Francisco, CA. This will be a primarily remote, but will require someone to be on-site twice a month. This client has purchased a small company that needs the assistance of an SDET on their web based security assessment tool that they are building. This company is operating as a startup but is backed by the larger enterprise corporation. This product is specifically being developed in JavaScript, and we are looking for an SDET to be hands on with test automation development, process improvement, and analysis and metrics for the product. This company is currently doing all manual testing, and this SDET will need to architect an automated test strategy from scratch. About 75% of this person's time will be spent architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable, reusable, and robust automated test suites with a focus on API, integration, and UI testing for user facing and administrative platforms. They will need to integrate AI capabilities into the test automation framework to help enhance strategy, efficiency, and coverage. They will need to validate the API endpoints, ensure data integrity, and test middleware interactions across APIs, databases and 3rd party systems. About 15% of this person's time will be spent collaborating with developers, DevOps resources, and the product teams to understand the system architecture and ensure thorough test coverage. They will be hands on in contributing to the CICD pipelines to automate test execution on code commits and deployments. The remaining 10% of this person's time will be spent on coverage analysis and metrics as they develop automated reporting tools to analyze test coverage, UI, integration, and backend layers. The SDET will use automation scripts to track coverage gaps, and provide data insights to refine testing properties and improve overall quality.
We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
