About Us
About Us
YouLend is a rapidly growing FinTech that is the preferred embedded financing platform for many of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms, tech companies, and Payment Service Providers. Our software platform enables our partners to extend their value proposition by offering flexible financing products in their own branding, to their merchant base, without capital at risk.
We are owned by the leading Private Equity company, EQT, and have grown +100% year-on-year since 2020. We are headquartered in London, UK, but are also present in several European countries as well as the United States where we service our partners, including eBay, Amazon, Just Eat, Shopify, and Stripe.
The Role
We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our cross-functional Architecture team, where you’ll drive the design and improvement of YouLend’s developer platform and infrastructure. You’ll work across cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD tooling, developer experience, and performance-critical applications.
This is a hybrid role: part developer, part platform engineer. You’ll write and reason about code (preferably in C#/.NET or Python) while also building scalable infra using Terraform and Kubernetes. You will be empowered to shape standards, tooling, and infrastructure patterns that affect every team at YouLend.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable, observable, and secure infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes (EKS)
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Collaborate with engineers to improve developer workflows, test automation, and onboarding
- Extend and standardise platform tooling, including secrets management, GitOps, and auditability
- Contribute to the development and improvement of backend services in C# using ASP.NET, including RESTful APIs and Akka.NET-based systems – you’ll be expected to engage in actual coding and not just support application deployments.
- Contribute to internal tooling to enable developers, as well as API development where needed (e.g., FastAPI, Python)
- Optimise application deployments, container performance, and cloud cost strategies
- Document architectural patterns and champion platform best practices across teams
- Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, disaster recovery design, and runbook improvements
The ideal candidate will have the following skillset:
- Proven software engineering experience, ideally in C#, Python, or Typescript
- Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures, with an understanding of message handling, domain boundaries, and service isolation principles.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and unit testing (xUnit, Pytest, etc.)
- Proficiency with Terraform, Terragrunt, Pulumi, Helm, and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Experience designing systems using multi-account AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, EC2, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
- Track record of creating or improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Comfortable with containerisation using Docker and secure image management
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog or CloudWatch
- Understanding of GitOps and infrastructure lifecycle management
Desirable skills:
- Exposure to C# fundamentals, ASP.NET Core, and Akka.NET
- Frontend experience or familiarity with Angular applications
- Experience with OPA/Gatekeeper, Fluent Bit, or security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy, tfsec)
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles and software architecture patterns
- Passion for mentoring, building for reuse, and improving developer velocity
