Job Description:
The Senior Language Specialist works closely and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, advising, coordinating, and delivering against project plans for Spanish language products.
This person is dedicated to the localization production for a specific Amplify business suite. They will play a key role in maintaining the quality and authenticity of its Spanish language products. They must have an expert command of the Spanish language, including cultural and grammatical nuances; experience translating and proofreading pedagogical/educational texts; a proven ability to learn new platforms, systems, and authoring tools; and the ability to contribute strategically to our processes and workflows.
The Senior Language Specialist may occasionally be asked to work on projects or initiatives outside of their assigned business suite to help Digital Production meet their department-wide priorities or deliverables.
Essential Responsibilities:

Manage a diverse team of language professionals, assigning and prioritizing tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Aggregate and distill input from all areas of the organization, developing the best approach for incorporating feedback into project executions.

Audit team output to identify relevant improvements; deliver feedback on quality assurance checks; and copy edit materials as needed before final delivery.

Ensure projects adhere to language-specific guidelines; oversee implementation of stakeholder feedback.

Draft and maintain project documentation, such as Style Guides, Glossaries, and production workflows.

Educate and train stakeholders on translation, authoring and asset management systems; Ensure localization best practices are being utilized.

Facilitate clear communication channels among cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of vision and implementation.

Collaborate with all stakeholders to define and manage goals, scope, specific deliverables, and scheduling needs.

Oversee the continued development and maintenance of Spanish language projects

Manage the production plan for multiple projects simultaneously, using relevant project management tools and strategies

Facilitate aggressive timelines and proactively address bottlenecks.

Implement ongoing improvements to workflow and production pathways.

Ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely production of all project elements.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Native-level LATAM/US Spanish speaker; Fluent in US English
-
BA/BS or equivalent experience
-
5+ years of experience in the translation industry, i.e., translation, editing, and proofreading, including MTPE
-
3+ years of copy editing experience in Spanish
-
Proficiency in performing linguistic research
-
Understanding of different Spanish dialects and experience using editorial judgment for balanced usage

Experience in developing glossaries, style guides, linguistic support materials, etc.

Experience with CAT tools and working in a translation management system (memoQ, Trados, Phrase, etc.)

Experience managing and leading diverse teams

Experience with asset and content management systems

Experience using project planning and tracking applications

Experience collaborating with a team

Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

Experience with full project lifecycles, from concept to delivery

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 . This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
