Job Description:
Queensland Rail is excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our Ethics & Investigations Team as a Senior Employee Relations Adviser (AS6).
As the senior member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing complex and high-risk workplace investigations, providing expert guidance to the business, and mentoring fellow team members to build capability across the function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading confidential and complex investigations into allegations of misconduct and/or corrupt conduct, including matters with significant organisational impact.
- Collecting and analysing evidence through interviews, statements, CCTV footage, records, and other documentation.
- Producing high-quality, detailed investigation reports with clear findings and recommendations.
- Advising senior leaders and stakeholders on appropriate management actions, including performance and disciplinary processes.
- Collaborating with Queensland Rail's Industrial Relations and Legal teams on matters that progress to formal legal proceedings.
- Delivering ethics-related training and capability-building sessions across the business.
- Providing mentoring and coaching to team members to uplift team capability and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex workplace investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Proven ability to provide high-level strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of QLD Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) obligations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a time constrained manner whilst maintaining quality.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring and developing others.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Law, or a related field (desirable).

Remuneration & Employment Type
This is a permanent, fulltime position, based in Brisbane CBD with a starting base salary of $135,199 plus 12.75% superannuation and hybrid work options to support the balance between work and personal commitments.
