About the Role
Title: Senior Construction Record Keeper
Location: Houston United States
Job Description:
CDM Smith is seeking a Construction Record Keeper to join us in oversight of CEI projects documentation in Texas. Depending on skill level, this employee will perform all facets of Construction Record Keeping, assist with Construction Change order and material deficiencies. Duties will also include 30% 60% and 90% percent project audit. Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed.
• Attends and documents pre-construction and progress meetings
• Monitors contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages.
• Monitors on-the-job training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits required monthly reports.
• Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made.
• Prepares correspondence, reports and supporting documents.
• Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
• Sets up project files for each construction project within assigned area.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Regular visits to project offices are required but the work can be done remotely.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or Vocational Technical degree or equivalent. 14 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Driver's License Requirements
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Former TxDOT employee
• Record keeping experience on TxDOT projects.

Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of arithmetic. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone or related applications and programs. Expert knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction. Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications. Expert knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
