Responsibilities
The Senior Specialist-Communications is responsible for supporting leadership communications to enhance Mayo Clinic's external visibility and reputation. This involves strategically leveraging thought leadership to build trust, influence perceptions, and drive greater engagement. The role includes crafting clear and impactful messages and developing engagement strategies that align with Mayo Clinic's priorities. You will play a critical role in maximizing the reach, impact, and voice of leaders through external communications, including keynotes, podcasts, and other formats.
The successful candidate will have experience in developing thought leadership strategies for diverse audiences across various channels. The Senior Specialist-Communications should demonstrate a history of proactive strategic communications with excellent writing, copy editing, organizational and communication skills. Must be self-motivated, responsive and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 3 years of relevant work experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy. Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build effective communication and engagement strategies.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to independently identify opportunities, solutions and resolve challenges. Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results. Requires an attitude that actively seeks out change, embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement. Must understand how to deal with and navigate ambiguity, and act without having the total picture. Adaptable or flexible. Demonstrated professionalism and ethics, with ability to earn credibility through integrity and transparency. Role models service excellence.
