In order to protect human health and the environment from the risks of hazardous substances contained in final products such as the home appliances and electronic devices that surround us, chemical substance management is being strengthened and the number of target substances is expanding and increasing every day. Representative chemical substance regulations around the world include the European REACH Regulation and the RoHS Directives of various countries, but because they require management throughout the supply chain and specialized analysis, it is difficult for a single manufacturer to comprehensively verify the chemical substances contained in its own products. As a leading chemical substance analysis laboratory, SGS provides analytical services that comply with various environmental regulations, including the RoHS Directives of various countries and the European REACH Regulation.
We are currently seeking a sales representative to develop new chemical substance management and analytical services, as well as maintain existing customers. In addition to selling analytical services, you will also leverage SGS's extensive experience and track record in chemical substance analysis and global network to develop new advisory services, such as support for improving operational efficiency for Chemicals in Products (CiP) management. If you have automotive experience, you may also be responsible for automotive-related testing services, such as reliability testing and light resistance testing.
Even if you have no experience in the industry, you can learn the job while communicating with sales staff, customer support staff, administrative staff, and analytical laboratory members within your team. ■Organizational Structure As of January 2024, the RSTS ( Restricted Substances Testing Services) department has approximately 15 members. Sales, customer support, and administration staff work together to provide analytical services at the chemical analysis lab located on the same floor.
■Work Environment
Until you become accustomed to your work, you will likely be required to come into the office frequently to emphasize internal communication and support. However, once you reach a certain level of proficiency, a hybrid work style incorporating teleworking will be possible.
Overtime is expected to be approximately 30-40 hours per month.

qualification
【Must haves】
・3+ years of experience in B2B proposal-based sales in the manufacturing industry
・Basic PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
・Experience creating documents using basic Excel functions (SUM, AVERAGE, etc.)
【Nice to haves】
・Sales experience in the electrical and electronic equipment/chemical industry
・Experience with REACH regulations and RoHS directives (those with only a basic understanding are also welcome)
・Experience using pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions in Excel
[English]
・A TOEIC score of 600 or above is required (this is a guideline, so even if you do not have a TOEIC score, you are welcome to apply as long as you do not have any problems with the following). This is necessary for email correspondence with overseas group companies, as well as for reading and understanding guidance and standard requirement documents. Those with conversational skills are welcome.
・We will support you in brushing up your English skills with free in-house TOEIC tests and subsidized English conversation costs.
Other Information
[Working conditions]
Estimated annual income : 6.5 million to 9 million yen
*Bonus and fixed overtime allowance for 30 hours per month included
*Depending on experience.
Monthly salary breakdown: 460,000 (basic 380,000 + fixed overtime 80,000) to 610,000 (basic 500,000 + fixed overtime 110,000)
Bonus : Once a year in March (depending on performance)
Salary revision : once a year in April
Trial period : 3 months. There are no changes to the terms.
Commuting allowance, overtime allowance (overtime exceeding the 30-hour fixed rate will be paid separately in 1-minute increments)
BYOD allowance (3,000 yen will be provided per month for installing an IP phone app on your own smartphone and using it for work. The company will cover all call volume. The company will provide a PC for work use.)
Working hours : 9:00-17:00 (7 hours a day) Break: 12:00-13:00
