Job Description:
Overview
We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Director to join our Government Affairs team and help manage engagement with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and with the new Administration. You will also be responsible for some state-level legislative management. You will bring great teamwork skills and knowledge of financial services policy, privacy, and the current regulatory environment to our team. You must be located in Washington, DC and will report to the SVP, Government Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Lobby Congress on important issues important to Experian and help manage executive branch and agency engagement.
- Monitor legislative proposals at the federal and state level that would affect Experian's marketing services, credit bureau, decision analytics, automotive, and consumer services businesses.
- Help manage engagement on policy issues by collaborating with team members, trade associations, outside legal engagements, and other resources.
- Communicate expert, timely analysis allowing members of the Government Affairs and Legal teams to keep Experian's business leaders and other employees informed about federal, and state public policy and regulatory issues.
- Work with the Government Affairs team to publish internal legislative and regulatory reports and memoranda, ensuring accurate messages regarding legislation, public policy, and regulatory actions.
- Communicate information on enacted statutes and regulations to Experian legal, compliance and various departments for compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of legislative or government experience, preferably on Capitol Hill.
- Experience working on financial services, technology, and privacy policy issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related area.
- Experience working across party lines
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Experience bringing a collaborative approach to projects and decision-making.
