We offer a variety of hands-on STEM education programs, including biweekly, semester-long introductory coding courses.
The role
As a Curriculum Developer with us, you’ll be responsible for designing a new Python-based curriculum for beginner high school students. Your work will focus on creating lessons, activities, and projects that build foundational programming skills while encouraging problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. You will report directly to the full-time Curriculum Developer.
This is a temporary, part-time hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. In-person work is required at least once a week, depending on the program schedule. In-person work will include travel to the office and around the Bay Area.
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, generally from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM with some flexibility
- 25 hours/week for 4 months (starting from hire date)
What you'll be doing
- Design and develop engaging, level-appropriate Python instructional materials for high school beginners
- Create new curriculum units, lessons, and projects aligned with Mission Bit’s values and learning goals
- Incorporate problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration into curriculum design
- Collaborate with other content experts and instructors to ensure effective curriculum delivery
- Support the curriculum team on related projects as needed
Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Curriculum development experience (in formal education, afterschool programs, or similar)
- Python programming experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starting mindset with the ability to work autonomously with little oversight
- Punctuality, organization, and preparation skills
- Values aligned with Mission Bit and a passion for sharing CS knowledge
It’s not required, but it’s a nice bonus if you…
- Are innovative, dedicated, and flexible, with a willingness to experiment
Benefits
- Accrued sick time-off
Compensation
- $27/hour
