Tetra Tech is adding a Project Financial Accountant to our Finance Accounting team based in Maitland, Florida. This position may be partially to fully remote depending on the candidate selected. Part time for students with the opportunity of full-time employment upon graduation, may also be considered.

Your Role:
The Project Financial Accountant will be responsible to support the Financial Managers in gathering critical data on projects including budget tracking, forecasting and project analysis. This position is also responsible for assisting in accurate project setup and maintenance within Oracle applications, monitoring project profitability, complying with accounting policies and procedures, collaborating with central billing, assisting with collection efforts, and understanding/monitoring vendor costs at the project/task order level.
This position requires the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. The nature of the work performed will often have "last minute" requirements. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively. Will be expected to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during disaster response activations.
- Support Financial Manager in executing proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects.
- Support the Financial Manager in the development and maintenance of periodic status reports to keep management and/or client informed of project progress. Assist in updating accounting systems.
- Assist in project setup, maintenance, and updates to project budgets.
- Assists the Financial Manager in calculating monthly subcontractor accruals and quarterly financial updates.
- Assist the Financial Manager in resolving payment or labor charging discrepancies identified on review of Project Status Reports.
- Other assigned tasks as needed.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in: Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required; however, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
- Prefer 2-5 years as a project analyst in a project centric business.
- Oracle ERP systems experience preferred, but not required.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills using excel to organize and manipulate data to enhance decisions (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Data Entry, Data Reconciliation, Cost Calculations.
- Extraordinary attention to detail.
- Ability to work closely with others to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
