Job Description:
Job Summary:
As a Financial Navigator, you will provide a range of financial support and reporting of the financial affairs of its' vulnerable clients in Supported Decision-Making - Guardianship Options.
- Maintain financial documentation according to policy and present to all internal and external auditors upon request.
- Document and bill service hours for each assigned client following SDM-GO policy and procedures.
- Assist with finances associated with the client's estate, including but not limited to payment of bills, reconciling accounts, handling deposits, etc.
- Qualified candidates may be eligible for hybrid work agreement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate's degree or two years of related experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or customer service is required.
- Required satisfactory completion of National Guardianship Associations Finance Certificate Program after one year of service.
- Knowledge of accounting packages like Great Plains, QuickBooks or TurboCash preferred.
- Financial management experience with asset and investment management preferred.
- Coordinating skills required to organize and maintain separate financial records for 30 to 60 individual clients.
- Computer literacy, spreadsheets, word processing and basic budgeting is required.
- Strong communication skills are required to work as a team and present financial information in a conscientious manner. Also required to be a good listener and ask questions.
- Strong administrative skills needed to monitor financial data and interpret financial policies and procedures.
- Able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
- A DHS criminal background check is required.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail regarding financial tasks (paying bills, transferring assets, depositing client funds).
- Good planning and organizational skills; able to determine priorities and manage time appropriately.
- Sounds judgement and problem-solving skills required to analyze problems regarding the best interest of clients.
