OurGovernmentAffairs team(External Affairs)is seeking a Political ProgramsManagerprimarilyresponsible for administering,maintaining, and growing Prudential’s political action committees.

The role will report to the Head of U.S. Government Affairs and will be based in Washington, DC.or Newark, N.J.The ideal candidatewillhave PAC-related experience.The work arrangement for this position is hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week ineither the DC or Newarkoffice.

What you can expect:

  • Lead, build, and execute - in partnership with External Affairs leadership - the internal fundraising strategy to grow Prudential’s PACs, including annual strategic planning, PAC and political content development, eventplanningand execution.

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners (political law, compliance, communications, finance,vendors) to ensure the PACs are administered and managedin accordance withelection law and regulations.

  • Primary liaison with PACCompliance / Grassroots platform vendor.

  • Maintain and enhance administrativepartnershipwith PACs Treasurer and other internal partners for budgeting and disbursements to campaigns.

  • Directly engage with executives on the PAC Boards and their senior staff in setting budgets and strategic direction for the PACs

  • Directly engage with PAC members and prospects, in individualized and group settings, educating and encouraging voluntary PAC membership through effective and non-partisan communication of its importance to the company’s public policy agenda.

  • AssistGovernment Affairsin strategic deployment of PAC assets, including budgeting and continual disbursement monitoring and analysis.

  • Manage and coordinategrassrootsengagementwith Prudential employeesin support of Prudential’s policy advocacy.

  • Develop andmaintainrelationships with industry partners and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.

  • Partnerand executeona diverse range ofprojectssupportingGovernment Affairson asneededbasis.

What you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years’of direct experience as a PAC professional at a corporation, trade association, non-profit organization, or federal campaign.Ancillary political engagement experiencealsoapplicable.

  • Experience building andexecuting oninternal or external fundraising campaigns.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, oral and written, anddemonstratedability and experience to consistently collaborate positively and effectively with internal and external partners. Experience with public speaking is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail toleveragefor effective development and implementation of PAC strategy and fully compliant PAC administration.

  • Strong familiarity and interest in American politics, our political system, and the rules and regulationpertaining tocorporate political engagement.

  • Knowledge of Campaign Finance laws and regulations and FEC reporting rules.

  • Ability to engage colleagues in discussion about our political system and relevant developments to the company’s public policy agenda - including with senior executives, existing PAC members, and potential PAC members - in a positive and politically neutral manner in recognition of the range and diversity of political viewpoints among Prudential employees.

  • Experience working with political programs and software to ensure effective database management is a plus.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $114,500.00 to $188,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
