Job Specifics

DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Review collateral documentation received from lenders and update the Debt Management and Collection System.
  2. Request Promissory Notes and storage location documentation from lenders/servicers.
  3. Review loans eligible for mandatory assignment to the federal government. Process corrections for accounts that fail edits. Prepare files to be sent to the U.S. Department of Education.
  4. Maintain, update and correct various spreadsheets, reports, and databases.
  5. Prepare routine reports or assist others in the preparations of reports, following established guidelines.
  6. Perform various clerical or office assistance tasks such as scanning documents and verifying accuracy of data from scanned documents.
  7. Receive, screen, review, and verify documents, forms, promissory notes, and other documents for completeness, content, and accuracy.
  8. Review monthly General Ledger Account reconciliations to follow up on and resolve outstanding issues.
  9. As needed and as directed, contact various internal and external parties to obtain information.
  10. Enter data and information into and retrieve data and information from computerized systems.
  11. Assist in gathering or compiling data for reports, tables, or other products.
  12. Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  13. Filing, faxing, and scanning.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Be Detail Oriented
  • Use effective time management
  • Be able to communicate efficiently verbally and in writing
  • Offer constructive feedback and provide suggestions to improve current procedure
  • Using the skills above would allow new staff to research and resolve account issues.
