About the role
As a .NET Application Support Engineer, you will make an impact by ensuring seamless application maintenance, resolving complex customer issues, and driving continuous improvements in performance and security. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalated or complex customer inquiries and complaints that frontline staff cannot resolve.
- Analyze production issues and provide application maintenance support.
- Determine and prioritize maintenance work, including bug fixes, performance enhancements, and security updates.
- Monitor team performance, analyze metrics, and implement solutions to improve service levels and operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for process improvement, implement new workflows, and create training materials to enhance support services.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth information flow and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Manage work queues and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Work model

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET framework, including VB .NET and Windows Forms.
- Hands-on experience with MQ and Windows Services.
- Proven experience in building WebAPI solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL Server databases and Active Reports.
- Desired experience with Azure cloud services.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud-native application development and serverless architecture.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $85,000 - $93,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans
