Description:
The Medical Education Coordinator is the primary and initial point of contact for faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, physician assistant students and all school coordinators.
Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Responsibilities:
Assists the Medical Education Directors of the Hospital teaching affiliations (George Washington University and Children's National Medical Center), as well as the Pediatric Attending Program to maintain the programs orientation manual and prepare various reports. Monitors trainee compliance with established Hospital policies and procedures. Maintains all related records including documentation of trainees' experiences. Prepares and maintains residents and medical students evaluations for faculty. Prepares letters of verification of training, coordinates medical student and resident rotations/scheduling. Provides guidance and support for resident and medical student orientation including organizing scrub classes when needed. Handles system access requests for all residents and medical students and HealthQuest for all residents. Represents the hospital at institutional and participating sites when required.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of college coursework preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in the coordination of medical school and residency training programs preferred.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently on various projects simultaneously and strive in a fast- paced environment.
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
- Ability to compose and edit documents and correspondence independently.
- Experience with medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education ACGME requirements and competencies preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Pay Range: $17.58 - $25.33
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
