This position is a part of the College of Pharmacy’s Office of Marketing and Communications and reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. They are responsible for managing and executing digital communications across social media, email marketing, and the college website, ensuring alignment with The Ohio State University’s brand standards and the College of Pharmacy’s strategic goals. They will provide photography and videography support at college events as needed.

 

The role includes publishing and distributing accurate, engaging and strategic content on social media platforms; managing social media traffic using the university’s social media software; monitoring college social media accounts and incoming messages; engaging with audiences; amplifying stakeholder posts; and keeping the college’s social media profiles current. The individual will participate in the planning and production of content and contribute to the development and execution of the college’s social media strategy. Attendance at university social media community of practice meetings is expected, along with staying informed on current trends, tools and university policies.

 

In the area of email marketing, the position is responsible for creating and distributing formatted emails using Ohio State templates and adhering to style and brand guidelines. This includes composing and sending the college’s electronic newsletters and other communications on behalf of stakeholders such as advancement, admissions and the dean’s office. The individual will ensure the accuracy of email lists, maintain the outgoing email calendar and follow best practices for timing and formatting. They will stay current with email marketing trends and techniques, ensure content accuracy and uphold the college’s visual identity. Adaptability to university-supported email marketing software is essential, as is participation in the university’s email marketing community of practice.

 

For the website, the position will populate the college’s calendar and news feeds with events, announcements, achievements and feature stories in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a clean and consistent aesthetic in line with brand guidelines. They will support the office by making front-end updates to college web pages as requested. The individual will also be responsible for submitting college news stories for inclusion in university-wide and external media outlets.

 

This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to assess performance across the platforms they manage. The individual will demonstrate a knowledge of AP editorial style for writing and editing content. They will actively attend college events to capture high-quality photos and videos for use in digital and social media content. Additionally, they will participate in college and team meetings, as well as relevant university communities of practice, to ensure alignment with institutional standards and stay informed of evolving best practices.

 

 

 

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $51,500 - $67,250. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.

 

The College of Pharmacy believes in a healthy work/life balance, therefore, the work arrangement for this position is hybrid (i.e., remote and in-office), subject to change based upon the needs of the organization and as determined by College Leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communication or Journalism. 2  years of relevant experience in marketing, communication, journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with communications, marketing and social media management; experience with content management system; experience with email marketing platforms including MailChimp; basic photography skills, presentation design; basic graphic design skills; proficient with HTML code for website and email editing; excellent verbal and written communication skills, including AP style; strong attention to detail; professional customer service skills; ability to manage multiple projects and think critically; demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independent leader and remain focused under pressure.

 

Desired Qualifications:

2-4 years of relevant experience. Experience with The Ohio State University policies and branding guidelines; knowledge and familiarity with higher education; experience with Drupal, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social and Adobe Creative Suite.
