Position Summary:
Reporting to the Communications Manager in the Marketing and Communications department within the Enrollment division, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator works on the development and implementation of communication and marketing activities, enabling programs, services, events and/or products to meet organizational objectives. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator employs a variety of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies that may include direct mail, advertising, web, email, social media, news media, special events, and other methods; researches and translates various forms of subject matter to assist in producing content for fact sheets, brochures, articles, newsletters, digital signage, and other internal or external communications; participates in the planning of marketing and/or communications strategy; creates, conceptualizes, edits, implements, and enhances communications and content including website, advertisements, articles, and feature stories.

The ideal candidate for the Marketing and Communications Coordinator position will be detail-oriented and able to work with a wide range of marketing collateral across various formats and mediums. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. They should be adept at building and maintaining positive relationships and use their written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels. Their organizational skills will enable them to manage multiple projects and deadlines. The candidate will be resourceful, willing to take initiative, and ready to actively engage in the work necessary to achieve results.
Workplace Requirements:
This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range:
$50,000-$52,000 dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position.
- Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
- In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis may be substituted
1+ years' experience in marketing and/or communications

Skills:
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Copywriting experience
- Experience posting on social media (Instagram, FB, X)
- Organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects by creating efficient workflows
- Creativity: adept at generating ideas and executing on concepts
- Analytical, problem-solving skills: ability to evaluate challenges, explore alternatives, and implement solutions
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Google and Microsoft suite of products
- Box
- Slack
- Zoom
- Content Management Systems
- Asana project management tool
- Sprout Social
Essential Functions:
- Lead the annual website refresh by reviewing, coordinating and updating all department webpages
- Monitor and update content on our educational/marketing partner websites under direction of supervisor
- Monitor and update print collateral as needed within brand guidelines
- Review and update the collection of admission presentations with direction from admission team
- Schedule and post social media under direction of supervisor
- Coordinate student blog posts and build in the Content Management System
- Assist with copywriting duties as necessary including writing captions and descriptions for social media and other marketing collateral
- Maintain up-to-date databases of competitor intelligence
- Assist with event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives
- Perform all other duties as assigned
