Job Description:

New!  Northwest Kidney Centers is hiring a Learning & Development Coordinator to join our People Team in Burien, WA.  This is a hybrid role.  The position will initially be onsite more for training and also as needed to support ongoing learning initiatives.

Purpose

The Learning and Development Coordinator (LDC) assists in coordinating educational activities that support NKC's goals, compliance, and development framework. This role provides essential administrative support to the Learning & Development Manager, People Team leadership & internal stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Serve as the main point of contact for NKC's Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring data integrity, new user access, assignment of new hire and ongoing compliance trainings, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide LMS support to learners, leaders, and stakeholders, including troubleshooting and addressing access questions.
  • Support training needs and curriculum strategies aligned with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Generate LMS reports for the Learning and Development team and other staff members as needed.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, the L&D Manager, and leadership to leverage resources and best practices.
  • Share feedback with the L&D Manager on tools, resources, training, and learning experiences.
  • Assist or facilitate orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Administer Learning & Development information on K-Net and apply for continuing education units (CEUs) for applicable training courses.
  • Develop and implement an onboarding program in collaboration with the leadership team for new hires and those transitioning into new roles.

Onboarding & Employee Experience 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for NKC employees, leaders, and internal stakeholders, managing inquiries and scheduling needs through the People Team Ticketing System.
  • Manage the schedule and preparation for New Employee Orientations (NEO), coordinating with external training vendors for logistics, registration, and communication.
  • Support the creation and rollout of tailored onboarding plans for each role in NKC by partnering with People Team leadership and stakeholders.
  • Administer employee programs such as tuition reimbursement and scholarships, and research monthly learning opportunities for staff.
  • Provide administrative support to training cohorts and assist the Learning & Development team with various workstreams.
  • Create training documents and presentations, demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and L&D tools.
  • Coordinate, track, communicate, and market the training calendar, initiatives, and events in collaboration with the L&D Manager and internal communications team.
  • Analyze and evaluate current work processes to identify inefficiencies, propose recommendations for improvements, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Provide phone support and respond to inquiries via the People Team ticketing system.
  • Participate in People Team and NKC organizational initiatives and strategies.
  • Be available onsite to support NKC learning initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in human resources, training/learning & development, or administrative support in an office environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; strong preference for experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., MedTrainer) and adult learning theories.

  • Experience in teacher/trainer roles
