Job Description:

We are looking for the next lead trainer to join our Provider Accounts and Credentialing team as a Program Specialist 2.  In this position you will be responsible for training new and existing staff on how to complete and process provider applications and other administrative tasks that support L&I’s provider credentialing processes .  You will assign work to the team and perform quality control of the work performed by the Medical Program Assistants and Program Assistants to ensure the work meets the quality standards and the unit production goals are met.

Duties

Some of what you will do:

  • Train new and existing staff.
  • Create detailed program specific procedures and training tools.
  • Maintain and update training manuals per policy and system changes.
  • Assign work and ensure unit work goals are maintained.
  • Review and assess provider applications for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established unit policy, procedure, state laws and regulations.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of renewable licensing, DEA, malpractice insurance and agreements.
  • Assist with hiring processes, including interviewing and making hiring recommendations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field. 

AND

  • Ability to key 40+ words per minute 

Equivalent education/work experience in healthcare credentialing can be substituted year-for-year for education 

Desired:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of healthcare credentialing processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of credentialing software, such as Vistar, ProviderOne, etc.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Medical Information Payment Systems (MIPS).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)..
  • Possess current Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Provider Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certificate or designation.
  • Two years’ experience conducting health plan credentialing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NCQA credentialing standards.
  • Possess ability to enter, update, and manage credentialing database.
  • Sound decision-making.  The individual must be able to review information and draw a conclusion.
  • Ability to focus on details while responding to multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Independently manage work assignments to reach desired production expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to adapt to changes.
