Spire Global is a space-to-cloud analytics company that owns and operates the largest multi-purpose constellation of satellites. Its proprietary data and algorithms provide the most advanced maritime, aviation, and weather tracking in the world. In addition to its constellation, Spire's data infrastructure includes a global ground station network and 24/7 operations that provide real-time global coverage of every point on Earth.
We are looking for a Front-end Developer to join our weather team to help us develop our online mapping and data analysis platform. You'll be working in a small, collaborative team where you will have opportunities to make a fundamental impact on the success of the company. Must Have Qualifications
- Fluent in JavaScript (React), HTML, CSS, and experience with the NodeJS ecosystem
- Track record developing high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented web applications following modern responsive design paradigms
- Experience integrating web applications with backend APIs (REST, OGC)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience leveraging AI agents for day-to-day development activities
Nice To Have Qualifications
- Have created large, multi-user single-page applications
- Familiarity with charting libraries such as SciChart, Bokeh, D3 or Highcharts
- Well versed in UI/UX best practices
- Experience creating and iterating on wireframes and mockups with product owners
- Experience in atmospheric or oceanographic environments, mapping, and/or cartography with Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers, and/or Esri web tools
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
