Your Role as ANPD Executive Director
As Executive Director, you will provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership for a ~$4m professional society. In collaboration with the ANPD Board of Directors and Executive Committee, you will develop and implement the organization's long and short-term objectives to drive ANPD's mission forward. You will provide strategic advice and operational oversight to ensure sustained growth, financial strength, and industry influence of ANPD. Given its key position in nursing professional development, your leadership will not only shape ANPD's future but also contribute to the advancement of quality healthcare through the development of nursing professional development.
What You'll Do
- Champion ANPD's Mission - Provide expert guidance to the Board, shaping policies and strategies that advance the Organization's goals.
- Drive Innovation & Growth - Identify industry trends, utilize technology, develop long-term solutions, and execute bold action plans to support and enhance ANPD's influence, membership, and programs.
- Lead with Impact - Inspire and manage ANPD's diverse internal and external teams, ensuring operational excellence, financial health, and strong organizational culture.
- Shape the Future of Nursing - Organize and support ANPD's high-impact Aspire convention, develop and expand their robust education programming and initiatives, keeping the Organization at the forefront of innovation.
- Build ANPD's Revenue Base - Grow ANPD's non-dues revenue base and expand programming.
- Expand Strategic Partnerships - Build and nurture relationships with other nursing and nursing affiliated societies, healthcare organizations, and corporate partners to amplify ANPDs reach.
- Engage ANPD's Volunteers - Work with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to develop and nurture a culture of engaged volunteers, applying best practices to recruitment, engagement, and recognition.
Is This Role for You?
We're looking for an experienced, results-driven leader with a passion for nursing, healthcare, and innovation. If you have:
- A Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 5 years of executive management experience.
- Proven expertise in organizational leadership, financial management, and operational excellence.
- Experience leading nursing, medical or scientific societies, with a deep understanding of nonprofit management.
- Exceptional communication, listening and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
- Experience leading and managing diverse, cross-functional teams.
- The ability to think strategically and execute with precision, turning vision into reality.
- A track record of success in strategic partnerships, new program development and utilizing a growth mindset to lead organizations.
Bonus Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
- Certified Association Executive (CAE)
- Experience in nurse professional development within the healthcare sectors.
- Deep understanding of professional and nursing organizations.

Our hybrid environment offers you the option to work from home two days per week. Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines.
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $195,000. In addition to base salary, performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package are available.
