Job Description:
This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The expectation is for employees to be in-office 3 days or more per week, depending on business need. This in-office expectation is subject to change at business discretion.

The eCommerce Digital Designer works closely with cross-functional teams to create and support digital initiatives for Columbia Sportswear Company. These include brand campaigns, site-wide promotions, email campaigns, and interactive experiences across desktop and mobile platforms. While our workflow still relies on Adobe Creative Suite, the heart of our design work is now in Figma, and we're embracing new digital tools including AI-assisted design and generative content platforms like Amplience (for site content) and Zeta (for email creation).
This role is expected to deliver innovative, high-quality design solutions that meet business requirements, elevate the brand, and push creative boundaries. You'll be asked to clearly articulate your design thinking and how it supports strategic goals..
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Solve design challenges with fresh thinking and a deep understanding of brand identity.

Design across various digital platforms, driving site enhancements using industry best practices and emerging trends.

Communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly to internal teams and stakeholders.

Collaborate with other creative teams to ensure a cohesive look and feel across all digital consumer touchpoints.

Build and refine digital layouts primarily in Figma, with support from Adobe Creative Suite as needed.

Embrace and experiment with new tools and technologies, including AI-assisted design and generative content platforms.

Conduct final desk checks with precision, ensuring layout, imagery, and typography meet high design standards.

Maintain and evolve best practices for web, digital design, and user experience.
YOU ARE
-
A digital-first designer with a passion for innovation and a strong eye for detail.

Proficient in Figma, with a drive to explore and adopt emerging features and capabilities.

Comfortable working in a Mac OS environment and skilled in Adobe Creative Suite.

A strong communicator who builds positive relationships across teams and disciplines.

Curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to improve the work and the workflow.
YOU HAVE

2-4 years of digital design experience.

Bachelor's degree in Interactive or Visual Design preferred (BFA or BA).

Intermediate understanding of web development principles and CSS.

Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Ability to deliver high-quality design at scale and under tight deadlines.

Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of color and composition.

Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience with prototyping and digital storytelling.

Familiarity with art direction for digital content, including studio and on-location photoshoots.
