Job Summary:
As the Director of Marketing, you will be instrumental in driving the success of REE’s business growth. Your primary focus will be supporting the marketing strategies that align with the financial needs of the business.
With your expertise in cross-functional collaboration, you will lead efforts to optimize REE’s go-to-market strategies, ultimately contributing to the company's growth and competitive advantage. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for implementing marketing deliverables to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Requirements
What is expected in this role:
- Implementing the Marketing strategy and direction in collaboration with senior leadership and marketing agency.
- Translating company goals into an annual/quarterly marketing plan and channel mix; defining agency scope, outcomes, and success criteria.
- Setting the measurement framework (KPIs, targets, attribution approach) and reporting cadence for all partners.
- Owning and leading the successful management of the marketing agency partners.
- Establishing and maintaining SLAs (deliverables, timelines, quality bars, escalation paths) and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
- Running weekly performance reviews with agencies; commission experiments, creative tests, and optimization plans; escalate under-performance with clear remediation timelines.
- Driving day-to-day traffic/briefing quality and unblock execution; hold partners accountable to scope, budget, and outcomes.
- Approving invoices against SOWs and PO workflows; manage change orders and reallocation across channels/partners.
- Maintaining the partner roster (who does what, when to add/sunset).
- Ensuring all processes and procedures related to Marketing Programs are followed and safeguarding personally identifiable information / personal health information across the different teams.
- Serving as REE’s Marketing Subject Matter Expert within REE.
- Owning the consolidated marketing budget (media + fees + tools); forecast, track, and reconcile monthly; surface ROI and savings opportunities.
- Partnering with Finance on pipeline attribution, forecasting, and budget vs. result reconciliations.
- Own the marketing scorecard: conversion funnel KPIs (e.g., CPL, CAC, ROAS, CVR), quality and revenue outcomes, and channel health.
- Enforcing brand standards and messaging; review all public-facing deliverables.
- Preserving data access/ownership (ad accounts, pixels, analytics) and continuity (no “black box” dependencies).
- Overseeing the marketing tech stack used by agencies (analytics, tracking, ad accounts, CRM integrations) and ensure proper tagging and attribution.
- Partnering with Compliance ensuring alignment with all regulations REE is subject to in our communications, marketing, web design, outreach and any other form of marketing.
How success is measured in this role:
- Here we list KPIs we measure this person against in terms of performance. What shows they are being successful in the role vs. identifying when they are not. These should be measurable and easy to calculate in some way towards the output of the expectations.
What you need in this role to be successful:
- 5+ years serving as a marketing leader within a B2C brand, with at least 1+ years in a leadership/management capacity (e.g., Manager, Sr. Manager, Associate Director).
- Proven track record of translating company goals into marketing campaigns and managing execution through third parties.
- This means being skilled in vendor management: setting clear SLAs, monitoring deliverables, and holding partners accountable.
- Strong working knowledge of marketing KPIs, reporting, and campaign measurement in a B2C environment.
- Solid understanding of digital channels (SEO, paid media, social, content, email, etc.) with direct experience in at least one area and oversight across the full mix.
- Experience conducting SEO audits and implementing improvements (doesn’t need to be “expert,” but must be confident leading/overseeing).
- Proficiency with marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) and ability to distill performance insights for leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage marketing budgets, track spend vs. plan, and report ROI.
- Clear, concise communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and agencies in a remote-first environment, with proven experience in reporting metrics to the executive level and ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and empathy.
- Experience navigating changing priorities and leading teams through time of change.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating effective collaboration across various departments and levels of the organization. Including the ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and focusing on building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ability to think strategically while still maintaining a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized mindset.
- Goal-driven approach with experience leading and coaching remote teams, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams towards achieving common goals.
- Proactive thinking, consistently foreseeing and preparing for forthcoming challenges or opportunities.
- Experience in start-up or early-stage environments with little or no defined infrastructure or processes is a plus!
