Position Summary: This position is in the Miscellaneous Tax Section of Customer Relations and collaborates with other divisions and agencies. Educates customers in person, by phone or in writing of applicable laws, policies, procedures services and resources in a professional manner. Provides customer with information regarding status of records, tax return or other transactions. Provides guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems or errors. Performs account management on accounts involving customers who are registered and liable for various industry licenses and taxes for liquor drink, liquor enforcement, transient guest, tire excise, vehicle rental, dry cleaning, water protection, stock/industrial water, charitable gaming, raffle and for the selling of drug tax stamps. Assists with fiscal notes process. Preforms testing of system fixes as needed.
Upon completion of training and any other requirements the selected candidate may be eligible to work remotely from their home.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and two years of experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Experience: Knowledge of available services and resources. Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to apply guidelines to individual situations. demonstration of good customer service, communication and time management skills. Ability to detect, correct and explain irregularities and violations by applying tax accounting principles. Ability to assist with training and answering questions for associates.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
