Ripple Effect is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and responsive Communications Associate with 2 years of professional experience and excellent writing skills to join our communications and outreach team. As a Communications Associate, you will lead our efforts to deliver consistent, effective, and innovative marketing and communication outcomes for federal agencies-with a focus on real estate and public buildings.

Responsibilities
- Works closely with subject matter experts within government agencies to fulfill timely and thoughtful planning, implementation and execution of tasks across multiple channels and formats, including but not limited to newsletters, social media, help desk, website, and video scripts.
- Participates in program activities and provides recommendations to achieve program objectives.?
- Uses customer management systems to manage electronic communications and support change-management efforts to transition to new tool.
- Actively updates partners and contributors on the progress of all active work.
- Provides?meeting?support to?program?by drafting agendas, calendaring, organizing documents, capturing minutes, preparing summaries?and tracking progress of action items.
- Supports client's vision by capturing feedback and meeting outcomes to create and execute actionable next steps to align with the program's overall goals.
- Proactively participates in online application development activities, including reviews, testing, and iteration, and communicates progress to appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Develops standard operating procedures to effectively guide coordination across multiple internal partners.
- Initiates communications and marketing planning tasks by recommending channels, scheduling (dates, duration, etc.) and content, design, and formatting; identifying, analyzing, and managing target audience, customers, and/or leads; and considering prior lessons learned and risk assessment and mitigation options as needed.
- Supports change management activities, including developing strategies to communicate and engage internal and external parties with the adoption of new processes and systems.
- Drafts written content and gathers visual imagery for a range of communications materials, including but not limited to social media posts, emails and newsletters, help desk responses, and websites; all writing complies with agency communications style guidelines and specific requirements by channel, audience, and task.
- Drives communications products through the content production lifecycle from drafting, obtaining and responding to feedback, finalizing, and releasing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related and comparable field of study.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience creating and executing communication activities (e.g., newsletters, internal communications, communication plans, etc.).
Basic Requirements
- Excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to self-edit and tailor format, voice, and style to meet specific needs of the program as well as the channel and target audience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for face-to-face interactions with clients, co-workers, and program partners.
- Ability to learn and navigate web-based system such as SharePoint, Teams and other electronic business systems.?
- Experience using writing and branding style guides.
- Ability to quickly identify and understand communication directives, goals, needs, and other requirements.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and proactively approach to sharing ideas and feedback with peers, supervisors, and leadership.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Interest in supporting a priority initiative in real estate and public buildings.
- Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation and FBI background and history check.
- Willingness and ability to report to the Ripple Headquarters office (Rockville, MD) on an as needed basis.
