Cloud DevOps Engineer

Job Description:
ASRC Federal Highland Technology is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to work on a new DevOps Team. This is a remote position. Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or similar degree
- At least 5 years of overall IT experience of which 3 years were hands on DevOps Engineering experience
- Candidates without a college degree will be considered, but must have at least 9 years of general IT experience of which 5 years were hands on DevOps Engineering experience
- Experience with Cloud File and DB technologies (S3, RDS, and DynamoDB) for configuration/deployment automation/troubleshooting
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (CloudFormation/Terraform)
- Experience with application hosting technologies (EC2, ECS, and EKS)
- Experience with cloud networking and security
- Experience with cloud identity and access management
- Experience in GIT and SVN source code management systems
- Experience with cloud monitoring and tracing tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray)
- Strong understanding of Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture
- Must have excellent inter-personal skills to be a superb teammate, and ability to contribute to a high-performing team
- Ability to pass a government background investigation (candidates will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder that can show 3 years consistent US residency.)
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with the following skills/competencies.
- Experience with AWS (over Azure and Google)
- Experience with Jenkins
- Experience with NuGet, Chocolatey, SonarQube, and Nexus
- Experience with configuration management systems
- Knowledge in .NET and JavaScript unit test frameworks
- Experience in monitoring systems; CloudWatch, WhatsUpGold, Zabbix, AppDynamics
- Experience in log aggregation; Splunk or ELK
- Current SAFe Agile certifications
RESPONSIBILITIES

Approximately 50% hands on with DevOps work, 25% project management and 25% team management focus

Coach other developers on cloud-native solution design and help to evolve and document standards

Ensures system design standards are met for contract deliverables, customer satisfaction and quality

Creating sustainable automation for build, test and deployment of enterprise web applications written in .NET and JavaScript

Designing the following DevOps Automation functions:

Database deployments

Software test automation
-
Configuration management
-
Infrastructure automation
-
Application monitoring
-
Automating complex operational tasks using common scripting utilities

Scripting desired state configuration of windows servers

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern tools and practices to enable automated, reliable delivery of application and infrastructure changes across cloud environments

Serves as an escalation point for Ops Automation responsibilities and objectives for customer stakeholders

Evangelize and Cross-Train DevOps principles across the organization; distributed systems, decoupled applications, predictable automation.
