About the job
Associate Director of Field Medical Training specializes in developing the training curriculum for US Immunology on specific content, working closely with the several TA stakeholders, delivering new hire training for above TA content and skill development for field medical teams to positively impact the Medical organization's effectiveness and performance. This position reports to the Field Medical Strategy Implementation Director, US Medical Immunology.

Main responsibilities:

Work closely with Sr. Field Medical Strategy Implementation Director, US Medical Immunology, TA Heads, Field Implementation Directors, Medical Directors, and workstream team leaders to identify training needs, co-developing the training curriculum to address unmet needs

Develop and implement annual training plan for field based medical on above TA content and professional skills development
-
Co-Develop and coordinate the implement annual training plan for field based medical for therapeutic area knowledge, ensuring continuous delivery of disease state, therapeutic landscape and product learning

Pipeline support in Phase II clinical development - liaison with CSU (Clinical Study Unit) and CRD (Clinical Research & Development)

Liaison with MMC (Medical Managed Care) strategic lead(s) to coordinate, co-develop, and co-deliver training to MMC team as needed

Leader in innovative initiatives in communication and training (e.g., podcasts, adoption of OneNote)

Assist contracting for external speakers that will take part on internal trainings

Plan, coordinate, and implement all required formal training meetings (virtual, on-site/offsite)

Support knowledge attainment and professional development of the greater North American Medical team with input from the Head of US Medical Immunology

Manage budgets and related administrative requirements related to curriculum development, training resources, and training meeting implementation
-
Identify, select, and manage vendors for curriculum design/development and manage relationships with internal stakeholders representing existing training platforms (e.g., iLearn)
-
Coordinate with global medical communications on shared training endeavors and other Sanofi training leaders as needed.

Serve as liaison to Sales Training colleagues and help coordinate MSL support of commercial training needs (e.g., POA workshops)

Lead the Field Medical Training work team in projects

Support and collaborate with the Field Medical Excellence group through communication and leveraging field medical training, best practices and resources

Manage ad hoc training or other projects as assigned by the field medical leadership

Identify and develop alternative training venues and methodologies to enhance flexibility and delivery of training offerings. Work continuously to refine the field medical training curriculum and certification process for new hires.

Field rides with MSLs to continually understand the nature of the business and training needs

Attendance at MSL leadership team meetings and NAM organizational meetings
-
Interface with Sanofi field medical training colleagues to ensure alignment around training best practices, field medical training processes, SOPs, and audit preparedness
About You:
Qualifications:
-
Advanced degree - M.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D., or equivalent.

Field-related medical expertise, i.e., Medical Scientific Liaison experience is preferred
-
Previous training or teaching experience within the context of US pharmaceutical, healthcare industry, or academia
-
Current knowledge of immunology pathophysiology/clinical landscape (Dermatology, Respiratory, Allergy, GI or Rheumatology) therapeutic area is preferred
-
Knowledge of instructional design and principles of adult learning is helpful

Project management experience helpful

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

Comfort and experience presenting before groups

Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and medical affairs functions

Travel: Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to customer facing interactions, internal and external meetings, and participate and deploy trainings.
