Job Description:
Within the digital team of the NCAA communications department, this role focuses on graphic design for member- and public-facing content, including resource documents, slide presentations, and graphics for webpages on NCAA.org. Responsibilities include graphic design and upholding the NCAA's brand standards. The ideal candidate will exhibit a dynamic, creative approach, quick thinking, outstanding communication, and the ability to respond positively to design feedback.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital designs for audiences within the NCAA membership and stakeholder groups, with deliverables including PDF resource documents, slides used during presentations, and graphics to help with message delivery on NCAA.org and in NCAA emails and social media promotions.
- Craft compelling social and digital media content to boost engagement and prompt action.
- Engage in collaborative concept development, creating illustrations, infographics, and designs that intrigue and educate while adhering to NCAA brand standards.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork across various departments, bringing forward proactive and innovative visual communication solutions.
- Translate partner input and refine designs to meet NCAA style and production timelines.
- Coordinate with designers and photographers to develop concepts, identify photographic needs, and guide shoot direction.
- Respond to live events with real-time design execution.
- Assist with digital video production and editing where needed.
- Employ strategies for file optimization and enhanced production workflows.
- Support updates and maintenance of NCAA.org content using the organization's content management system (CMS), ensuring consistency with brand voice, accessibility, and design standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three years in digital graphics production is essential.
- Experience in sports or national brand design is highly desirable.
- Essential: Brand comprehension, adherence to brand standards, and scalability.
- Strong typographic and conceptual design skills are required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere) mandatory; After Effects beneficial.
- Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) to publish, update, and manage web content alongside digital design production.
- The ability to swiftly adjust to shifting priorities and juggle multiple projects is crucial.
- Photography and photo editing skills are advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Experience with project management software, such as Asana, is preferred.
- Knowledge of college athletics and higher education communications is highly desirable.

- This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
