Account Manager - Polymers and Electronics - Europe

Summary:
Develop and drive the sales of additives for Polymers and Electronics in Europe.
Execute the Growth Strategy for the region while identifying new trends/needs and introducing new products.
Develop, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with customers and distributors.
Work closely with Marketing, Technology, Product Management, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to drive profitable growth of the business.
Responsibilities Include:
- Execute the growth strategy for the P&E business in Europe
- Drive growth at or above AOP target levels and accountability for assigned accounts.
- Maintain and further develop the current customer database in the region
- Develop appropriate commercial tactics to generate success in the targeted markets
- Drive business development into new territories, markets and applications.
- Ensure execution of the strategies and remove roadblocks that may prevent adoption
- Work closely with other members of the team including the Regional Segment Leader, Product Managers, Application Development Engineer, Marketing Communications and Technology to ensure that all plans and strategies are aligned.
- Effectively collect market intelligence and feed it back into the marketing team
- Travel and meet Customer and Distributors face to face to ensure business development
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Master degree in Chemistry, Plastics or Chemical Engineering with experience in a commercial role within the chemical industry
- 5-10 years professional experience
- Good technical and chemical knowledge
- Market knowledge of the Plastic Industry
- Strong cross-functional player who can work effectively across teams (Marketing, Quality and Supply Chain) and drive results
- Strong Sales skills with high customer orientation
- Good technical understanding of complex customer requirements
- Excellent oral and written communications skills - fluent English
- Self-directed and independent (remote office)
- Energetic, self-motivated
- High willingness to explore new things and create new business models
- Willingness to travel on a frequent basis (up to 50%)
- Possession of a valid driving license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct sales experience in the Plastic/Polymer additives
- Additional languages (German, French, Italian)
- Project management skills
