Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Negotiator to join our Casualty Solutions Group, focusing on workers' compensation cases. This role involves conducting back-end negotiations with attorneys to resolve complex claims efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in medical coding, network negotiations, provider-side experience, or paralegal work to this challenging position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct back-end negotiations with attorneys on workers' compensation claims
- Analyze complex medical and legal documents to determine appropriate negotiation strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure optimal claim outcomes
- Prepare and present detailed reports on negotiation activities and outcomes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Utilize negotiation skills to achieve favorable settlements while maintaining positive relationships
- Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively
- Contribute to the development and implementation of negotiation strategies and best practices
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant experience, which can include but is not limited to workers' compensation, medical coding, network negotiations, or paralegal work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to be assertive in negotiation situations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPT certified coder
- Background in healthcare provider operations
- Paralegal certification or experience
