Description
As Technical Lead, you’ll consult directly with our clients early on in the project to understand their objectives and goals, translating their needs into a robust and scalable technical solution.
From complex web apps to best in class marketing sites, you work passionately with our clients to identify, define and research the most appropriate solutions to meet their technical challenges.
Sitting at the intersection of creativity and technology, you take a broad overview across development infrastructure, engineering and systems to find effective and innovative ways to build world class digital products and bring imaginative ideas to life..
You have clear methodical thinking, strong communication skills and a passion for technology and digital storytelling.
Requirements
Technical Planning
Define the technical approach and solution in line with the client's goals.
- Strong ability to consult with clients to understand requirements
- Conduct thoughtful research and creative problem solving of technical challenges
- Build POCs to test and validate early ideas
- Synthesise client, user and technical requirements into a clear development strategy
- Create and maintain clear technical briefs and specifications that developers can follow
- Adopting a technology agnostic approach, define the technical architecture, confidently proposing the appropriate frameworks, languages, and platforms
- Provide accurate technical estimates, working closely with project managers to develop a detailed delivery plan that accounts for technical dependencies and mitigates risk
Technical Leadership
Lead and oversee technical delivery, guiding the team to success.
- Clear, confident and articulate presentation of appropriate solutions to clients, serving as their primary technical contact
- Leadership of technically advanced projects bridging the gap between client, project manager and development partner
- Collaborate with designers to ensure creative concepts are executed to spec. With a sharp eye for design fidelity, you care about maintaining visual consistency, polish and motion detail.
- Ensure a high level of technical quality is maintained across projects from discovery to launch.
- Enforce best practices are consistently followed across accessibility, security and performance.
Hands-On Development
Support the development team in delivering the technical output.
- Active involvement in hands-on front-end and back-end development, as required
- Implement thoughtful, performance-conscious animation and transitions to elevate user experience
- Deployment and basic DevOps tasks as required

We expect you to be knowledgeable in:
- Frontend languages (e.g. HTML, CSS/SCSS/Tailwind, JavaScript/TypeScript, frameworks like React, Next or Vue)
- Some experience with Backend languages (e.g. Node.js, PHP, JAVA, etc).
- Strong knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem
- Animation for web (eg. CSS animations, GSAP, Framer, Motion.js, Lottie etc).
- API Integration
- GIT workflows, CI/CD automation
- Cloud services (eg. AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Understanding of software design patterns
Your experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience
- Has worked in a digital agency in a technical leadership role
- Full-stack development skills, with a flexible tech-agnostic mindset
- Mentorship / team management
