Overview
About the Role
As a Team Manager within GB's Worker's Compensation team, you will lead a team of Case Managers and Claims Specialists and make a significant impact in how we manage Workers Compensation claims. In this position, you will be at the forefront of providing a top-tier claims management to injured workers and employers, and your leadership will be crucial in guiding your team to success through effective workflow and people management.
In this position, you will directly influence and manage your team's daily operations, upskill and mentor your team members, lead performance discussions, drive recruitment processes, and implement innovative strategies to continuously enhance our claims management function.
How you'll make an impact
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients to facilitate effective claims management discussions.
- Workflow Management: Oversee your team's daily workflow to ensure efficient output and maintain high client service standards.
- Leadership and Coaching: Provide engaging leadership, coaching, and feedback on technical, business, and performance-related issues.
- Skill Development: Collaborate with the Branch Manager to identify skill gaps and assist in upskilling your team.
- Team Morale: Foster a team-oriented culture focused on achievement and service excellence.
- Mentorship: Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and continuous improvement through mentoring and coaching.
- Service Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in claims handling services and implement strategies to meet business and WorkSafe requirements.
About you
What we're looking for:
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a People Manager role with outstanding leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, or an up-and coming future leader ready to take on their first people leader role.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Workers Compensation legislation and the Eligibility process.
- Client Management: Experience in client management and engagement.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff and external parties.
- Conflict Resolution: Strong conflict resolution abilities.
- Time Management: Exceptional time management skills.
- Qualifications: Industry specific or other relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, business, Occupational Rehabilitation or a related field.
