Description: - Develop backend APIs and frontends in a variety of programming languages. - Internalize business and strategy, and provide technical guidance on what’s possible to achieve business goals while optimizing for efficient usage of engineering time. - Evaluate the technical feasibility of software products and strategies that achieve our business objectives and provide recommendations on the technical approach. - Negotiate with product managers on different approaches in order to cut unnecessary scope and iterate quickly in order to maximize business value. - Break down a high-level vision into a sequenced and prioritized engineering roadmap, then lead a team to deliver on that vision. - Establish milestones for projects, and then break down those milestones into discrete tasks. - Design and build core systems that enable customer experiences on both web and mobile. - Integrate with data sources like hosted relational databases and also cloud-based data systems like Airtable and Salesforce. - Create dashboards and metrics to measure business performance using SQL and business intelligence tools, and use those metrics to inform our product strategy. - Brainstorm on improvements to our technology or organization, and have the freedom & accountability to drive those improvements end-to-end. - Measure the team's ability to maintain a high velocity on delivering projects, and systematically reduce impediments that prevent the team from operating effectively. - Share knowledge with teammates through technical presentations and brown bag sessions. - Maintain healthy lines of communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Discuss progress, plans, and blockers related to the day-to-day creation and delivery of software systems. - Communicate project status to product and business stakeholders. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 4 years of experience in each of the following: (1) Python or Javascript; (2) SQL and relational databases; (3) developing HTTP-based APIs via REST or GraphQL; (4) core web technologies such as HTML, CSS, or AJAX; and (5) object oriented programming and software abstractions.

Offered Wage: $163,862 to $188,000
