This role is hybrid in Lincoln, NE.  Candidate must live in or near Lincoln, NE.

As part of the Nebraska Lottery’s marketing team, the Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for representing the Nebraska Lottery at sponsored events throughout the state of Nebraska, executing event contracts, and promoting the Lottery Brand. As a Special Events Coordinator, you will be expected to create a dynamic and memorable experience for players by generating strong customer engagement and using a proactive approach to promoting and selling Lottery products.

Responsibilities

•    Build the Lottery brand by selling the Lottery product at sponsored events, seasonal marketing campaigns, store openings, product demonstrations and other marketing events
•    Coordinate with sales, marketing, and event organizers to ensure marketing objectives and needs are being addressed through events
•    Transport Lottery trailer to events, maintaining both the vehicles and inventory to ensure a clean, inviting, and relevant display at every event
•    Set up equipment including terminals, communication network and premiums at events
•    Work throughout events and oversee NE Lottery Brand Ambassadors
•    Have a working knowledge of all Lottery products
•    Keep and maintain an accurate inventory of Lottery products and supplies
•    Coordinate with the Lottery’s Media and Events Manager regarding staffing support and other needs of each event
•    Train new NE Lottery Ambassadors
•    Maintain a clean driving record and follow mandatory vehicle maintenance and reporting requirements
•    Participate in regular team meetings or conference calls with the Events Team to review recent event outcomes and prepare for upcoming events
•    Other duties/projects as needed during the slower season
•    Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing and making bank deposits

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
This is a salaried position that requires overnight traveling throughout Nebraska. Hours will include nights and weekends. This position is full-time and year-round, with summer months being the busiest time. This position does qualify for quarterly incentive pay based on performance. Travel expenses included.

IDENTIFICATION/SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
The person in this position must possess valid US identification or prove appropriate immigration status and have a valid US drivers license. The person in this position must pass criminal background checks

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications or equivalent skills: 
•    Degree, or equivalent, in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/Advertising/Business preferred
•    1+ year of marketing experience in event management and/or hospitality services preferred
•    Valid driver’s license, clean and safe driving record, trailer towing experience preferred but not required
•    Must pass DOT physical and drug testing
•    Must be pleasant, outgoing and able to speak comfortably to players
•    Basic computer skills
•    Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $39,848 - $103,002. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
