Availity’s Fusion product is known for its ability to upcycle clinical documents and improve data usability for downstream systems. Working collaboratively with a team of senior engineers, this Software Engineer IV role will help improve this upcycling process in a modern and cloud-native manner.
This team is responsible for producing and maintaining products that will process the large volumes of data sent into our system on a daily basis. These responsibilities include implementing, documenting, and supporting items such as internal platform integrations, processing flows, storage patterns, and developer tooling. Every member of this team is expected to collaborate on the design and implementation of solutions while keeping a keen eye on overall performance.

Role qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Management.
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
- 6+ years of progressive work experience developing software products
- AWS experience
- Experience with automated unit testing and acceptance testing frameworks
- Working experience with source code version control (preferably Git and GitLab)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Proven commitment to working in a senior engineer role, including mentoring and design guidance
- Experience with Spark, Flink, or another similar framework
- Experience with Kotlin, Scala, or another JRE
- Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and NodeJS is preferred
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS)
- Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
What you will be doing:
- Designing and developing scalable and maintainable data-driven systems that demonstrate best practices
- Writing maintainable data processing code that is easy to understand
- Maintaining data pipelines capable of processing large volumes of clinical data in a stable and observable system
- Collaborating with software and data engineers in the design and code review process
- Creating standards for and documenting the systems you help build
- Participating in daily stand ups at 11:00am EST
- Working in 2-week sprint cycles
- Working on a team of 4 engineers
